Thank you for coming!
Thanks to those who braved the soggy conditions to meet our hatchery volunteers this morning at the Rivers and Trails festival at Lions Park. Those who made it were put to work releasing hundreds of Coho smolts into the nearby creek where the little fish did not care at all about the rain coming down on our heads. Thanks to our volunteers for bringing out the tank from our hatchery.
Port Coquitlam & District Hunting and Fishing Club and BC Hydro are co-sponsors of this year’s Rivers & Trails Festival at Lions Park this Sunday the 22nd. Our hatchery volunteers will be again supervising a smolt release at the park – which starts from opening at 11am until all are released, an event that is a hit with families.
This year’s festival will take place in Lions Park (2300 Lions Way) and offer family-friendly activities focused on celebrating and protecting the community’s rivers, trails and natural environment. The festivities will kick off at 11am with an opening ceremony and end at 3 pm.
Volunteers needed!
If you can represent the club and help supervise the smolt release, please contact nwfletcher@telus.net
