This is last week of the election. The winning party in the last two elections received 33% of the popular vote in 2019 and 39% of the popular vote in 2015.
In many ridings the difference came down to less than a percentage difference in votes with Port Moody and Coquitlam-Port Coquitlam among the most contested. A single neighborhood could have swung the result in any of these ridings.
Sadly 23% of eligible Canadians did not bother casting a vote in the last election despite there being multiple ways to vote. What does this mean? It means your vote counts and your influence among your friends and family is even greater. More importantly, this is the one time you can directly influence the makeup of who leads the country. Now is the one of the only times they cannot ignore you.
Engage with your community. Volunteer for the parties you support. And come out on Monday, Sept. 20th.
