The club has taken advantage of the suspension in operation by working hard to start improvements requested by the inspector of the Chief Firearms Officer of BC that had resulted in restrictions in our shooting activities.
- Volunteers and staff have been building ground baffles across Range 3.
- An excavator is now on club grounds and has been building up the berms on Range 10, to be followed by work on Range 7 and Range 1.
- The club took delivery of a container that will become a permanent shelter for Range 10. Volunteers have cut shooting ports and constructed shooting positions. When berm and foundation work has been completed on Range 10, the container will be positioned there.
- Target positions on Range 7 have been adjusted from meters to yards. New backstops will be constructed with heavy machinery to follow.
Ongoing updates on the mitigation with photos will appear on in future posts here and on the club Facebook page at www.facebook.com/pcdhfc. Those with construction or engineering experience who wish to volunteer their time, please fill out the form here.
