This upcoming Junior Olympian Program JOP season will require all archers (age 10 to 20) MUST have their own equipment and at least beginner experience of shooting the indoor distance of 20 meters. With physical distancing in mind we can only accommodate 8 archers per class. Preference will be given to returning archers from previous years in the program. ALL archers must be members in good standing with the BC Archery Association. New this season will be a registration fee due in September of $120.00. There will no longer be a drop in fee for the JOP.
BC Archery, Archery Canada and Via Sport have come up with strict guidelines regarding COVID-19 protocols. The guidelines can be found here on the BC Archery website and the waiver form for archers here. A waiver needs to accompany your child every time they participate and hand in upon arrival at the clubhouse. MASKS ARE MANDATORY! Coaches will be wearing masks and face shields.
Your child will be assigned a time to arrive and depart, this will be a mutually agreed upon time based on parent/child availability to the best of our ability. Parents are asked to drop off only as we cannot safely accommodate spectators at this time. We are also asking for two parent volunteers per time slot to assist with check in, monitor physical distancing and safety guidelines for cleaning and/or sanitizing. There will be a rotating schedule available so parents can take turns helping out and it’s not left up to the same parents every week. This will free up the coaches to focus on archery and make the most of the shooting time available. Coaches will be following the recommended physical distancing protocols when working with the archers and will be coaching by example rather than hands on.
