Club Holster Course

PCDHFC wants all members to have a great time shooting safely. We also need to comply with insurance directives for safe firearms handling.

Club Holster Course

The Club Holster Course (CHC) is a privilege offered to existing PCDHFC members who have met the training criteria outlined for CHC.

CHC members are permitted self-supervised access to ranges 3, 4 ,5 and 6 on PCDHFC property, during normal business hours. These members are referred to as “Holster Certified”. All CHC cards will be recorded and issued by the Club office.

The Executive Committee of the PCDHFC will have final authority in approving members as CHC.

CHC Prerequisites

Before you are eligible to take the Club Holster Course:

You must have passed the Canadian Firearms Safety Course or Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course in preparation for a PAL.
You must have a PCDHFC Membership in good standing.
You must shoot at Range 7 under supervised conditions at least five times (demonstrated by collecting signatures from the Range Officer(s) on your Interim Membership Card or equivalent).
Furthermore, we recommend that you are comfortable with the following activities: Clearing any malfunction, maintaining an active firing range and controlling other shooters.
All holster course applicants must have club membership and completed the Range User Certified course.

Registration & Costs

Cost for the Club Holster Course (CHC) is $100 per person, payable with application. To register and pay for any scheduled course, drop in at the range office and pickup the Holster Course study guide Monday – Sunday 8:30 am – 4:00 pm. Office closed Tuesday and Wednesday and statutory holidays.

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Courses are scheduled once a minimum of 4 students have signed up.

Cancellation

Failure to give 24-hour notice of cancellation will result in recharging the course fee when rescheduling.
