The LEAP Committee (Law Enforcement Action Pistol) runs shoots on the second and fourth Saturday of the month. Shoots are open to all club members who are “holster qualified” to the Club’s standards, having completed the approved club holster course or IPSC Black Badge, CPCA Duty Pistol, CBSA, (Canada Border Services Agency) trained armoured car personnel, and all Law Enforcement Agencies.
Second Saturday Matches
Second Saturday matches are in accordance with the Canadian Police Combat Association (CPCA) rules. These include the 1500 PPC, Duty Pistol and various other CPCA approved courses of fire.
Fourth Saturday Matches
Fourth Saturday matches consist of various Law Enforcement courses of fire used throughout North America and often includes a steel match. Pistols should meet the standard of what any Law Enforcement Agency would carry. For example the majority of Glock’s, Smith & Wesson M&P’s, SIG’s, H&K’s would be acceptable. Most 1911’s and clones are also acceptable providing the user is competent with that particular pistol.
No compensators or optic sights allowed. Fibre optic sights are ok.
Participants require at least three magazines for their pistols – more are better but they must be carried in magazine pouches.
Holsters should have two levels of security. For most non-law enforcement shooters something like the Blackhawk CQC is acceptable. One size fits all holsters would not be acceptable. If in doubt whether your holster or pistol is suitable for the fourth Saturday matches please send Brian Largy an e-mail at leap@pcdhfc.com.
Come out and join the fun. Match fees are $10. Matches start at 0830 for setup and registration and usually finish around noon.
