CMP stands for Civilian Marksmanship Program.
We shoot 22LR rifle in the spirit of Rimfire Sporter as defined under CMP.
CMP Rimfire Sporter is shot from a variety of static positions at 50 and 25 yards. All types of rifle actions are used but semi-auto and bolt-action are most common. Detachable magazines are strongly favoured. You can shoot with open sights or scoped. The course of fire involves 3 positions (prone, sitting or kneeling, and standing unsupported) and includes both slow-fire and rapid-fire for each position.
Sometimes we shoot courses that incorporate barriers and movement such as those from NRL22 or Rimfire Precision.
The atmosphere is casual and the focus is on having fun and being safe.
This is a great next step if you’re getting bored of bench shooting at Range 7.
Sessions are Monday nights on Range 1.
Match fee is $5 for members (includes 2 targets).
Non-members pay an additional $10 for the day card.
If you need extra targets, they’re $2 each.
Parking is at Range 3.
Setup and sign in at 18:00, firing line goes hot at 18:30.
Round count is minimum 120.
Hope to see you there.
