AMS Shooting Sports at UBC is a club formed under the Alma Matter Society of UBC with hosted events at PCDHFC. This club provides an opportunity for those interested in firearms (who may not own one) to experience shooting sports in a safe environment with mentorship. Regular meetings are held at UBC to organize live fire events, PAL/RPAL courses, and safe firearm handling using non-firearms (eg. SIRT pistols, airsoft guns). The club is most accessible for UBC students, but students from other universities are also welcome.
Our live fire events typically include speed steel and trap/skeet. Speed steel events are based on Steel Challenge stages and rules (https://steelchallenge.com), and are set up in partnership with the PCDHFC IPSC club. Trap/skeet shooting occurs along side regular trap/skeet events on Sundays, and UBC club members may bring extra shotguns as loaners for those who do not have their own.
