Help clean up one of the Lower Mainland’s most popular accessible wetlands – please register below so that numbers can be managed for COVID reasons

Help represent fishers, hunters and outdoor enthusiasts at one of the Lower Mainland’s most sensitive estuaries by lending a hand to pick up trash this April 17th. Brunswick Point (also known as Robert’s Bank) is a publicly accessible marshland located in Delta, BC that is home to some of the B.C’s most important resident and migratory bird species. It is a prime spot for waterfowling and attracts many nature lovers and photographers during the year. With the busy Deltaport close by, Brunswick Point collects high levels of ocean trash that threatens to propagate through the natural environment unless cleaned out.   

When:

April 17th 9am – 12pm. MEET at 9am for sign in and safety briefing

Where: Wellington Park, Delta

How:

• Please register using the form below so that we can know how we can support this event
• In groups volunteers will fan out along the marsh or on the water picking up foreign objects and bagging them
• Some groups may visit the nearby Fraser islands (Barber Island, Woodward Island, Duck Island, Gun Island) by boat
• Return trash to designated pick up points so that they can be processed at the dump

What to bring

• Event space is limited to 10 people
• Please bring masks to be used when interacting closely with other people
• a pair of gloves, walking sticks, bug spray, good boots or waders, clothing for being outside
• personal floatation device if you want to help out on the water
