You are having fixed time. How are overtimes recorded?
We have asked our Official Timer manufacturer, SpeedTimer, for their guidance on how this works:
SpeedTimers do not allow for overtime shots and a fixed time is a fixed time. For example if you set a PAR time of 5 seconds: The start signal starts at 0.00 and ends at .29 and starts again at 4.71 and ends at 5.00. If you fire a shot at 5.01 the timer will record this shot flashing back at you. This tells the RO that the last shot was fired overtime.
We do not allow for any kind of grace period. This Design was requested by Nick Alexakos back when we ask him for guidance on PAR Time.

Can I shoot the pre-match?
There is no pre-match or CRO match; everybody works, and everybody shoots.

Can I bring large-capacity magazines?
All magazines brought to Canada must meet Government specs. As a general rule, the maximum capacity is ten cartridges for most handgun magazines. The rules can be found at http://www.cfc-cafc.gc.ca/factsheets/visitin_e.asp.

These rules read, in part: A large-capacity magazine is not prohibited if it has been permanently altered so that it cannot hold more than the number of cartridges allowed by law. Acceptable ways to alter a magazine are set out in the regulations.

The match copy says no sight pictures. How do I know my dot is on?
The "no sight pictures rule" is addressed by 8.7.2:

If match organizers also prohibit taking a sight picture with an unloaded firearm prior to the start signal, competitors must be advised in the written stage briefing. Violation will result in a warning for the first occurrence and one procedural penalty for each subsequent occurrence in the same match.

This means that prior to "Load and Make Ready", you should have your dot on. Once the range command is given, you will want to be certain the dot is on before you load the firearm. You cannot bring your gun up to a target.
